Our Purpose

We think design’s biggest potential is to improve people’s lives. Today, there’s a growing acceptance that all organisations, whether commercial or non-profit, should create positive social, economic and environmental impacts.

Our work has taken us from branding the identity of campaigning charities, to designing workshops to allow residents to share what matters most to them in their neighbourhoods. Whether it’s within an organisation, or in a place – creating community is essential to the delivery of our work.

Design becomes sustainable when large numbers of people embrace it, and own it, helping to be active agents of how it evolves over time. We are committed to a more hopeful future that involves everyone with lived experience in the design process.

Collaborating with others

In order to create anything, you need to work with people that share your vision, and we refer to all clients and colleagues as partners, working in a way that embodies the principles of the Commons. The means we get better insight, and together can create bigger and better things.

Listening is crucial

Good design comes from getting to the heart of the issue – and from the start we work in an empathetic way to research and enquire so we fully understand your world. Our starting point is always to ask “how do you want to make a better future for your audiences or neighbours, and work from there.

Testing ideas with you

Keeping an eye on both the bigger picture, as well as small details, we work in a way that allows for continual feedback and understanding of what we can craft together. This helps to ensure our work is grounded in the lived experience of those it will affect, and remains relevant and purposeful.
