Hackney CVS

New identity for East London community services

Hackney CVS represent and manage the voluntary activities in the London Borough of Hackney, they at at the forefront of tackling inequality in the borough. With this vital mission, they needed a new brand and website that would help them attract funding and sponsorship, build partnerships, and to assist the diverse community navigate their range of services.

Services: Branding, print design, UX, digital design, development

Result

As part of a collaborative design team, we created a brand that would guide their vision to support all users. The logomark imitates the different directions that people can access the service, and the brand was immediate, colourful and friendly in tone.

We created their new website, a magazine-style layout to showcase their many activities, with a responsive and simple user interface to help users navigate content easily. Internal buy-in and participation was key, and so we worked side-by-side with the whole team, building features and visual elements that would reflect their pride in Hackney CVS, as well as delivering training on their custom Content Management System.

Impact

The project helped to re-engage parts of the local community that hadn’t previous understood what was available for them, especially more isolated citizens. The new identity, too, caught the eye of current and new partners, helping build trust in the organisation and help them to leverage future funding opportunities.
